Marvelous natural chicken, Jidokko - raised sparing no labor, time, or cost

“Jidokko” is a species of chicken native to Japan and known for its savory flavor. Its name comes from an ancient farming tradition raising chickens for members of the ruling Shimazu clan. Jidokko chickens are more difficult to raise than ordinary chickens and were designated a precious natural product by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan in 1933 to help preserve the species.

Safety and tastiness are specialties prized by contract farmers.

Jidokko chickens are usually raised for 120 days but at Kuruma, we target quality meat, and raise our chickens 180 days. During this time, tests ensure outstanding flavor and unmatched taste and crispiness, texture, flavor, quality, meat, and plumpness. Chickens grow up freely in the bright sunlight and healthy air. Their feed is free of chemical substances such as antibiotics and growth hormones, and their safe natural breeding using natural ingredients and the best water.
